Cancellation Policy

San Elijo Swim School Policy & Liability Disclaimer 1. Mission Statement - Our goal is to provide neighborhood children with access to basic swimming skills and water safety through a donation-based swim school. We believe water safety is a vital life skill and aim to offer instruction in a welcoming, inclusive, and low-pressure environment. 2. Program Overview - Small-group, or one-on-one sessions led by volunteer instructors. • Age Range: 4-99 • Class Duration: 30 minutes • Location: private residential pool within the neighborhood 3. Donations - The swim school is 100% donation-based. • Donations are voluntary and go toward pool maintenance, swim supplies, and certification fees. • No child will be turned away due to an inability to donate. 4. Supervision & Parental Responsibility - Parents/Guardians must remain on-site for the duration of the class. • The swim school is not a daycare service. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s behavior and supervision when not in the water. • Non-swimming siblings must be closely supervised by their parent/guardian. 5. Volunteer Instructors are American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructors and Life Guards unless otherwise specified. 6. Safety Expectations • Children must follow all pool safety rules and instructor guidance. • Any child exhibiting unsafe behavior may be removed from the pool area at the discretion of the instructor. • Children must be potty trained 7. Health & Wellness • Do not attend swim lessons if your child is sick, has a fever, or has had symptoms of illness within the past 24 hours. • Please notify an instructor of any medical concerns (e.g., allergies, seizure history) prior to the lesson. 8. Liability Waiver & Acknowledgement By enrolling your child in the San Elijo Swimschool, you acknowledge and agree to the following: • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. • You understand that swimming and pool-related activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to drowning, slips, falls, and other injuries. • You release and hold harmless the swim school organizers, volunteer instructors, and pool owners from any liability, claims, or demands for injuries, accidents, or damages arising out of your child's participation in swim lessons or presence on the premises. YOU AGREE to be FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSESD by your child or yourself to the pool, pool equipment or property.
